Gilbert Manzano of Sports Illustrated asked Brock Bowers at the NFL Combine if he had met with the Los Angeles Chargers.

Brock Bowers confirmed that he had met with the Chargers. Bowers has been a popular mock draft pick for the Jim Harbaugh-led team, which owns the 5th pick in the upcoming NFL draft.

The Chargers currently have two tight ends on the roster, but starting TE, Gerald Everett will be a free agent when the new League year begins on March 13th.

Bowers is an exciting young tight end prospect, who, as The Athletic’s Dane Brugler puts it, is more of an offensive weapon than a traditional tight end.

Bowers Has Ties To Los Angeles Chargers Head Coach

Bowers mentions in the clip that he was recruited by Jim Harbaugh and that their respective teams played against each other in 2021.

In that game, the College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Capital One Orange Bowl, the Georgia Bulldogs dismantled the Michigan Wolverines with the final score of 34-11. Bowers caught five passes for 55 yards and a touchdown in that game.
