Despite being drafted in by the Los Angeles Chargers, quarterback Max Duggan is still better known as the quarterback who led the TCU Horned Frogs to their first and only 10+ win season since 2017.
He threw for 3,698 yards, ran for 423 and accounted for 41 touchdowns on his way to leading TCU to a 12-2 record, including an upset over undefeated Michigan in the national semifinal game, their first national championship game appearance since 1938.
Cowboys Bring In Former Chargers QB
Duggan has struggled to establish himself in the NFL. He spent time bouncing between the Chargers’ practice squad and active roster as a rookie but never saw any regular-season action. This lack of playing time continued into 2024, as he was released by the team after training camp with only one preseason game appearance under his belt.
But on Tuesday it was reported that Duggan was among several quarterbacks brought in by the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys were working out wide receivers on Tuesday and needed a quarterback to throw them passes. Duggan was in the area, was available, and filled that role for the workout session. The appearance wasn’t an official tryout, but it gave the Dallas area legend a chance to show what he could do in front of an NFL team.
The Cowboys currently have three quarterbacks on the roster — Dak Prescott, Cooper Rush, and Trey Lance.
