The Los Angeles Chargers have been attempting to cobble together their pass-catching corps, since cutting Mike Williams and trading Keenan Allen. Two of the pieces they added in that attempt were former first-rounder, Jalen Reagor and journeyman Laviska Shenault.
Reagor was added to the team early in late September and Shenault early this month.
Chargers Move Reagor To IR, Elevate Shenault From Practice Squad
According to reporting by Adam Schefter, Reagor has been moved to the injured reserve after sustaining a finger injury in the Chargers’ Week 14 loss to the Chiefs. In the same reporting, Schefter says that Shenault has been moved from the practice squad to the active roster.
Shenault has had 15 catches for 96 yards over the last two seasons. He was with the Seattle Seahawks last season and spent two with the Carolina Panthers the two before that. The best season of his career was his sophomore effort with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2021. He caught 63 passes for 619 yards.
Reagor caught seven passes on 11 targets for exactly 100 yards receiving over the last eight games.
The Chargers have seen significant injuries to their offense recently. Top receiver and second-round rookie, Ladd McConkey was forced to miss the Chiefs game with a shoulder and knee injury. Will Dissly, their second most tarted receiver left that game with a shoulder injury and has already been ruled out for the upcoming game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. McConkey is questionable to play.
With Reagor, the Chargers now have five offensive weapons on injured reserve; Hayden Hurst, Simi Fehoko, JK Dobbins, and Brenden Rice
