WATCH: Debut Of The Los Angeles Clippers Intuit Dome Leaves NBA Fans in Awe

The Los Angeles Clippers played their first game of the season in the brand new Intuit Dome live on October 23rd, 2024 against the Phoenix Suns resulting in an overtime loss 116-113.

Both Clippers fans and NBA fans alike were impressed with the unprecedented innovations featured in the Intuit Dome. Many unique features of the dome make the Clippers’ arena a premier blueprint for the future of professional sports arenas.

The Lakers and Clippers have shared an arena since 1999 up until the Clippers’ owner Steve Ballmer decided to build the $2 billion dome now called Intuit Dome.

The arena is located directly next to the Los Angeles Rams‘ SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. The groundbreaking on the arena officially started on September 17, 2021, and officially opened on August 15, 2024, for a Bruno Mars concert, yet the first game played at Intuit Dome was the October 23rd matchup against the Phoenix Suns.

The new home of the LA Clippers features many astounding properties. X user, and reporter for Front Office Sports, Colin Salao (@colincsalao), gave an in-depth walkthrough of the arena before the matchup against the Suns.

Los Angeles Clippers Intuit Dome Is Incredible

Featured in his thread is a look at the concession stands which uses facial recognition to enhance the experience.

One of the most unique experiences is “The Wall.”

“The Wall” is a notable experience for Clippers fans which includes a standing-room-only area behind one of the baskets. This college-esque idea is a wonderfully unique idea that could make life extremely difficult for the visiting team shooting free throws. Don’t worry the section does include chairs for whenever fans may be tired of standing.

The Halo offers an aesthetically pleasing look for the new look Clippers.

The Intuit Dome is filled with many surprises, including red, white, and blue LED lights on the chairs flashing for the national anthem and passing out rubber chickens wearing jerseys with Clippers’ mascot Chuck the Condor’s name on the back.

Overall, the Intuit Dome is sure to be a slam-dunk success for Balmer and the rest of the Los Angeles Clippers.
