It has been known for a little while now that Game 4 of the World Series would be a Bullpen day for the Los Angeles Dodgers. But the question remained, which reliever would get the start on the hill?

We now know that honor will belong to rookie pitcher Ben Casparius.

Casparius has an awesome story and he didn’t even make his Major League Debut until August 31. Pitching in tonight’s World Series game will mean that he has pitched in more postseason games (4) than regular season games (3) in his short career.

Born in Westport, Connecticut, Casparius is 25 years old and was drafted in the 5th round by the Dodgers back in 2021.

In the 2024 postseason so far, he has pitched 4.1 scoreless innings with 4 strikeouts and a 0.92 WHIP. In the regular season, he pitched 8.1 innings with a 2.16 ERA and 12 strikeouts.
