The Los Angeles Dodgers have bolstered their outfield depth by acquiring Michael Conforto on a one-year, $17 million deal, according to reports from MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand and ESPN’s Alden Gonzalez. This move adds a veteran bat to a lineup already boasting stars like Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman.

While Conforto provides an insurance policy in case of injuries, it appears they aren’t finished yet. According to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, they remain interested in free agent outfielder Teoscar Hernandez, suggesting they’re aiming to create an even more potent offensive force and cover their bases when it comes to their aging veterans in the outfield.

Conforto, a former first-round pick of the New York Mets, has had a solid Major League career. Known for his power-hitting ability and patient approach at the plate, Conforto has been a valuable asset to the teams he’s played for.

Throughout his career, he has consistently provided offensive production, including a 2017 season where he hit 27 home runs and drove in 92 runs. However, injuries have occasionally hampered his performance, and he missed a significant portion of the 2020 and 2022 seasons.

He spent the last two seasons with the San Francisco Giants. In 2024, he slashed .272/.339/.501 with 33 home runs, 84 RBI, and 84 runs scored.
