After dropping a hard-fought game last night to the San Diego Padres 6-5, the Los Angeles Dodgers have made some major changes to their batting order.
In a win-or-go-home game, star first baseman Freddie Freeman will not be in the lineup. His ankle has been flaring up and you could see how hobbled he was after a single in last night’s game. Max Muncy will move from 3rd to 1st base in his place.
Manager Dave Roberts has also decided to go with Kike Hernandez over Miguel Rojas. The full lineup will be as follows:
Los Angeles Dodgers Shake Up Batting Lineup For Game 4
Position | Player |
---|---|
DH | Shohei Ohtani |
RF | Mookie Betts |
LF | Teoscar Hernandez |
1B | Max Muncy |
C | Will Smith |
3B | Tommy Edman |
2B | Gavin Lux |
SS | Enrique Hernandez |
CF | Chris Taylor |
SP | Ryan Brasier |
This is obviously a huge loss for the Dodgers, as Freeman is one of the key players on both offense and defense. However, after the Dodgers only mustered one base runner after Teoscar Hernandez’s herculean grand slam, a shake-up felt needed and Freeman was clearly not 100%.
Kike Hernandez has certainly provided sparks for this team in the past, and he will be tasked with doing that again.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:08 PM PT at Petco Park.
