We are two days from Christmas, and Teoscar Hernández has yet to re-sign with the Los Angeles Dodgers, or any MLB team for that matter.
The expectation has always been that Hernández signing with the Dodgers was the most likely outcome, and he has said since the season ended that he wants to remain in LA and will do everything he can to make it happen.
We know from multiple reports that Hernández is seeking a 3-year deal worth $66-$72 million. For whatever reason, whether it is the terms or the valuation, the Dodgers have not bit at these demands and now seem to be at a stalemate.
Teoscar Hernández And Los Angeles Dodgers Reunion Hits Snag
According To Doug McKain of Dodgers Nation, the Dodgers and Hernández’s camp have not talked in a week.
- Teoscar Hernandez stats (ESPN): .272/.339/.501, .840 OPS, 33 home runs, 32 doubles, 99 RBI
Seeing how much the Dodgers have shelled out money-wise, not just the past two offseasons but historically, it is a bit surprising that Hernández’s wishes are too rich.
