Los Angeles Dodgers Could Lose Teoscar Hernández To A New Suitor

Teoscar Hernández immediately became a fan favorite among Los Angeles Dodgers fans. There were talks all season, especially in the postseason, as to whether the Dodgers would be able to retain Hernández in 2025, as he would become a free agent.

Hernández has flown under the radar a bit compared to some other big-name free agents, but in Los Angeles, he has been number one on the Christmas wishlist for fans.

Once the Juan Soto domino falls, it will provide some clarity on what the teams that don’t land his services will do.

While both the Yankees and Dodgers have been competitive in the Soto sweepstakes, they have both been the leaders in signing Hernández, with the thought being if one landed Soto, then the other would land Hernández.

Now a new team has emerged as a potential favorite to land Teoscar, the Boston Red Sox.

Per Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe, Hernández has told people that he would prefer to stay with the Dodgers but has a definite interest in the Red Sox. “It could come down to the Sox and the Dodgers.”

The Red Sox have also been in on the bidding of Soto, but according to Jon Heyman of The New York Post, the Yankees, and Mets have increased their bidding to $700+ Million, so the Sox may be losing ground, inferring that they will ramp up their pursuit if Hernández.

As mentioned above, the ball still seems to be in the Dodgers court if they want Hernández to remain in Blue. If they decide to move on from Soto, it feels likely that they will make it happen.
