Rams Still Being Urged To Trade For Young QB

The rollercoaster of the Los Angeles Rams season has created multiple storylines — including one without Cooper Kupp and Matthew Stafford on the team. But one that has persisted, and for good reason, is the franchise’s need to find its heir apparent to the quarterback position. Regardless of how well current quarterback Matthew Stafford is playing, he is closer to the end than the beginning of his career.

One possible solution that has been bandied about for months is trading for the Carolina Panthers 2023 first-round draft pick, Bryce Young. Young’s sophomore season has also been a rollercoaster. New head coach Dave Canales benched him after three games, only to regain the job after Andy Dalton sprained his thumb. Young led the team to its second win in Week 9 against their NFC South division rivals, the New Orleans Saints.

Despite the fact that he has failed to look good in the majority of contests, many believe he could flourish under the tutelage and in the offense of Sean McVay. That includes the 33rd Team’s Tyler Brooke. He ascertained just that in his recent analysis of the NFL trade market. Here is his case for the trade;

Rams receive: QB Bryce Young
Panthers receive: 2025 third-round pick, 2026 sixth-round pick
The Los Angeles Rams might be making a late-season playoff push now that everyone is healthy. Still, this team is also built to quickly retool and contend again once Matthew Stafford retires.
Along with a pair of star wideouts in Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua, the Rams have quickly built a young core of exciting defensive players led by Jared Verse, Braden Fiske, Kobie Turner, and Byron Young.

Few coaches or organizations could revive Bryce Young’s career like Sean McVay and the Rams. Young was benched earlier this season by Carolina, potentially signaling that new head coach Dave Canales wants to draft his own quarterback to build around.
Young has shown flashes since returning to the starting lineup. He was a Heisman Trophy winner in college and has plenty of talent despite his small frame. In the last two games, he’s completed more than 60 percent of his passes with three touchdowns and three interceptions, even leading a game-winning drive against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.
Some of Young’s best throws were dropped, including one that was ripped away for an interception on Sunday.

Despite his strong case for the trade, Sean McVay told reporters that the Rams would not be active at the trade deadline other than continuing to try to find a destination for CB Tre’Davious White.

Whether or not McVay’s word can be trusted in this matter, the quarterback question will continue to draw attention like this until they make a move at the position.
