When the Los Angeles Rams traded for Odell Beckham Jr. it turned out to be a match made in heaven. Beckham helped fuel the team through the last portion of the regular season, then turned on the overdrive to push LA through playoffs and into the Super Bowl, before tearing his ACL in the big game.
Now that Beckham and the Miami Dolphins have decided to mutually part ways, there is a chance for a reunion.
It is obvious from that move Beckham is interested in joining a team that has a chance to deliver him a second Lombardi trophy. This is corroborated by recent reports that Beckham has a short list of teams he’d be willing to play for that would be described as the “right situation.”
Beckham has an obvious affection for the Rams organization, particularly for head coach Sean McVay. Beckham attended McVay’s wedding and Beckham wore a shirt last season when his team at the time, the Baltimore Ravens played the Rams, commemorating the Rams’s Super Bowl win in 2021.
After McVay’s press conference last week, it is evident that the affection still goes both ways, but McVay wouldn’t go so far as to say they are pursuing the 32-year-old wide receiver, but also wouldn’t close the door on the speculation.

Rams Unsure About Odell Beckham Jr, But…
“I don’t know,” McVay said during a videoconference with reporters. “The love I have for Odell, you know that. Just waking up, kind of getting ready for what’s next for us, and focusing on this. I’m not really sure about him. I’ve had a lot of other things that we’re kind of focused on right now.”
The Rams do need a supplementary pass catcher, with Demarcus Robinson missing time recently due to a shoulder injury and Cooper Kupp struggling as of late.
But the bigger question is if Beckham still has enough magic left to be a needle mover in the playoffs. He missed the first four games of the season recovering from another knee surgery and has played sparingly after returning to the Dolphins.
He would certainly have more opportunities to have an impact as a Ram than he did with the Dolphins — who have a stacked group of wide receivers.
Regardless of the impending decision, the Rams’ offense has been wildly inconsistent this season, so trying out a possible answer could be a necessary risk.
