One of the biggest questions for the Los Angeles Rams once the season came to an end after a Divisional loss to the Philadelphia Eagles was whether or not Matthew Stafford would remain the quarterback in the future.
This had nothing to do with the Rams not wanting to continue with Stafford at the helm, but more so on if Stafford wanted to continue playing or retire.
After the season, Stafford told reporters that he wanted to take some time and ponder his future.

Head Coach Sean McVay said after the season that he hoped to have some clarity and receive an answer from Matthew Stafford sooner rather than later.
According to Ian Rapoport, who is down in Mobile, Alabama for the Senior Bowl, Matthew Stafford is planning to return and play in 20225.
Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford Intends To Play In 2025

“My understanding is that Matthew Stafford does in fact plan to play next season…basically told them, ‘I feel good, I don’t see why I wouldn’t play,'” Rapoport said.
While this is great news for both the Los Angeles Rams and fans, it is not the end of the story. Stafford’s contract is one that both sides will need to look at as it will need to be reworked yet again.
Per OverTheCap.com, Stafford only has a guaranteed salary of $4 million in 2025, but he has a Cap hit of $49,666,666. Stafford will more than likely want more guaranteed money, and the Rams will want to find a way to bring that Cap hit lower.

This also does not change the fact that the Rams should address the future of the QB position in the draft. Being that Stafford plans to be back at least one more year, it is a perfect opportunity to get a young talented QB to sit behind him for the 2025 season.
