The Miami Dolphins and Odell Beckham Jr. mutually parted ways on Friday, leading most to suppose that Beckham Jr. would be seeking a landing spot on a team with a chance at a deep playoff run — more specifically a place he could pick up a second Super Bowl ring.
Of course, Beckham was an integral part of the Los Angeles Rams‘ journey to Super Bowl LVI and their eventual victory in that game. In the playoffs, he averaged 5.25 catches and 72 yards per game over the four they played including a huge nine-catch, 113-yard performance against the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship game, propelling the team into their second Super Bowl in four seasons. He was well on his way to winning the Super Bowl MVP, catching 2 passes for 52 yards and catching a 17-yard touchdown, before leaving the game in the second quarter after tearing his ACL.
With that supposition, predictions about where Beckham Jr. will land have surfaced. NFL Insider Josina Anderson shared her thoughts on the best fits for the 32-year-old wide receiver via social media.
Where Will Odell Beckham Jr Sign, Rams An Option
While placed in “no particular order” the first thought seemed to be the Seattle Seahawks, who are competing with the Rams for the top of the NFC West and have the 5th hardest strength of schedule remaining among NFC teams.
While the Seahawks trio of receivers is still one of the league’s best, the talent drop-off is significant behind them. Adding a solid veteran like Beckham Jr. would allow a lot more flexibility to the depth.
Anderson also included the Washington Commanders, who have had several injuries to their receiving corps — most recently Noah Brown, who is out for the remainder of the season with a significant injury to his kidneys.
Anderson also includes the Rams as a fit, citing rapport with head coach Sean McVay. Beckham and the Rams seem to have plenty of affection for each other. Beckham wore a shirt last season when his team at the time, the Baltimore Ravens played the Rams, commemorating the Rams’s Super Bowl win in 2021 as a show of respect for his former team.
Furthermore, The Rams WR room is far from filled. Outside of Puka Nacua, their receivers have all struggled for one reason or another. Father time seems to have caught up with Cooper Kupp, Demarcus Robinson injured his shoulder last week against Buffalo, and the rest only play situationally.
