The final injury report for the Los Angeles Rams game against the Seattle Seahawks was released at about 2 PM PST on Friday before the game. Like most injury reports it contained some good news and some bad. But the biggest news was who wouldn’t be playing against the Rams in this game.

After days of reporting that the Seahawks were optimistic that star wide receiver DK Metcalf would be able to play in the game, despite being a non-participant in all three sessions, it was officially ruled that he would miss this upcoming divisional battle.

The sixth-year receiver has missed just two games in his career, last week was his second and this will be his third after suffering a Grade 1 MCL sprain in the Week 7 win over the Falcons, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The Seahawks struggled to move the ball through the air and score points last week against the Buffalo Bills without him in the lineup.

The Seahawks had been averaging 262 yards in the air (most in the league) and nearly 24 points per game. Against Buffalo, however, they scored just 10 points and 201 yards passing. Metcalf was averaging a near career-high 81 yards per game.

In addition to him, the Seahawks will be without their top receiving tight end, Noah Fant. While he isn’t a main threat in the Ryan Grubb offense, he is the only tight end on the roster who is a threat in the passing game.

The Seahawks were also hoping to get their starting right tackle back after he was elevated from the Physically Unable To Play (PUP) list. Lucas was a limited participant in Wednesday’s and Thursday’s practice but missed Friday’s session.

Much of the Seahawks’ offensive inconsistency can be chalked up to poor play up front. They are the 28th graded pass-blocking team and the 15th run-blocking team per Pro Football Focus.
