The 2024 NFC was dominated by three teams: the Detroit Lions, the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Minnesota Vikings, who collectively amassed a formidable 43-8 record during the regular season.
The Los Angeles Rams, aspiring at one point to back into the playoffs, face a daunting path, potentially requiring them to overcome all three of these formidable opponents. They already have knocked off one of them off with their victory over the Vikings in the Wild Card round.
On to Philadelphia, where they will compete against a foe that destroyed them in their Week 12 matchup when the Eagles hung 314 yards on them — on the ground. And this time they may have to do it in the snow.
Not many are favoring the Rams — Las Vegas bookmakers have the Eagles as 6 point home favorites to win the game. But not everyone has the deck stacked against LA. Dan Orlovsky made his case on ESPN’s First Take.
Los Angeles Rams: Most Dangerous Team Left In NFC
“I think they’re the most dangerous team left in the NFC,” Orlovsky said.
The Experience
“Who in the NFC has a coach who led their team to the Super Bowl?” Orlovsky said. “And won it? Who in the NFC has a quarterback who has gone to the Super Bowl and won it? What team has a quarterback who had one of the most clutch playoff runs in the history of the NFL? The Rams and Matthew Stafford.”

The Secret Weapon
“Then you go to Kyren Williams,” Orlovsky said. “He’s a walking touchdown. When he’s on the field, all he does is score touchdowns.”
The New Look Defense
“This year, without Aaron Donald, this defense has given up 395 points,” Orlovsky said. “That’s less than last year (401). They’ve gotten 22 takeaways. That’s more than last year (15). And they’ve 47 sacks (more than last year, 44).”
“We’re talking about a defense that is a better unit this year than they were last year,” Orlovsky said. “They’ve got a quarterback and coach who have done it. And I’m just telling everybody. That quarterback and coach will walk into that building (against the Eagles) and say, ‘You gotta come get us.’ And that’s why I think they’re dangerous. Because they’re confident.”
