While there has been a great deal of speculation about a Cooper Kupp trade being made soon, the rumored asking price the Los Angeles Rams have makes a deal unlikely.
Many around the league expected much more from the Rams in 2024. They surprised many by reaching the Divisional Round of the playoffs last season and seemed primed to make some noise again in the NFC West this year. However, heading into their Week 8 clash with the Minnesota Vikings, they own a 2-4 record as injuries have derailed their season.

That’s why it is unsurprising the team has been linked to various NFL trade rumors ahead of the Nov. 5 deadline. One of the most prominent rumors is a potential deal that would bring Cooper Kupp’s eight-year run with the franchise to an end in the next week.
- Cooper Kupp stats (2024): 2 games, 18 catches, 147 yards, 1 touchdown, 8.2 yards per catch
The 31-year-old is sure to get a lot of interest in the trade market. Especially since Davante Adams, Amari Cooper, and DeAndre Hopkins are now all off the market. A new rumor reveals the asking price that the Rams currently have. And it will probably be a non-starter for most interested teams.
Multiple reports confirm Rams want second-round pick in potential Cooper Kupp trade
“I know that they’ve told other teams it’s going to cost more than Davante Adams cost,” NFL insider Albert Breer said on a Wednesday episode of “The Herd with Colin Cowherd.” The New York Jets gave up a conditional third-round draft pick that can turn into a second based on performance achievements in 2024.
This seems to confirm other reports earlier this week that the Rams are looking for no less than a second-round selection. Especially since they are willing to take on some of the money left on the wide receiver’s contract.
- Cooper Kupp contract: Three years, $80.1 million
Los Angeles is unlikely to get such a return. Kupp is a talented player and former Super Bowl champion. However, he is the same age as Adams, has a far bigger injury history, and does not have anywhere close to the six Pro Bowl resume of the former Raiders star.
The Rams would have to agree to take on all the remaining money on Cooper Kupp’s contract to have a long-shot chance of getting a second-round pick in a trade.
