In finalizing their Opening Day roster, the Los Angeles Dodgers placed nine additional pitchers on the injured list, bringing their total sidelined pitchers to eleven. This includes Tony Gonsolin, Edgardo Henriquez, Kyle Hurt, Clayton Kershaw, Michael Kopech, Evan Phillips, and Emmet Sheehan, all placed on the 15-day injured list, along with Brusdar Graterol and Michael Grove, who were previously placed on the 60-day injured list to accommodate Roki Sasaki and Luis García on the 40-man roster.
Los Angeles Dodgers Bullpen Rocked With Injuries

The nine new Dodgers pitchers currently on the injured list are:
- Tony Gonsolin, RHP (15-day IL, back tightness)
- Eduardo Henriquez, RHP (15-day IL, left foot fracture)
- Kyle Hurt, RHP (15-day IL, right elbow surgery)
- Clayton Kershaw, LHP (15-day IL, left toe surgery)
- Michael Kopech, RHP (15-day IL, right shoulder impingement)
- Evan Phillips, RHP (15-day IL, right rotator cuff strain)
- Emmett Sheehan, RHP (15-day IL, right elbow surgery)
- Brusdar Graterol, RHP (60-day IL, right shoulder surgery)
- Michael Grove, RHP (60-day IL, right shoulder surgery)
Tony Gonsolin suffered a back injury during weightlifting in Arizona, leading to Dustin May taking the fifth-starter role. Gonsolin’s last appearance for the Dodgers was on May 3rd, and his return timeline remains uncertain. “It’s contingent on the build-up, when he’s going to join us,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters on March 11th.
Evan Phillips, recovering from a shoulder injury, is expected to return earliest, possibly around his first day of eligibility on April 2nd, as he was already throwing bullpen sessions before camp. Michael Kopech, dealing with arm inflammation last October and a slow offseason, is sidelined with a right shoulder impingement. Edgardo Henriquez sustained a left foot fracture in an off-camp incident and is expected to miss four to six weeks.
Clayton Kershaw, who underwent two surgeries in November, including a procedure to repair a torn meniscus and address a bone spur and ruptured plantar plate in his left foot, is also on the 15-day IL. “Kershaw said he was on crutches for four weeks after the surgery, then in a walking boot for another four weeks.” Kershaw’s one-year contract includes performance-based bonuses, and he estimated a May return in February.
Emmet Sheehan, who faced forearm discomfort and missed the 2024 season, underwent hybrid Tommy John and internal brace surgery in late May. “There’s a lot of work to be done ahead of me. But I’ve been in situations before where it didn’t seem like I was going to make it to the big leagues, or get drafted, stuff like that,” Sheehan said at the time. “I don’t know, I always feel like there’s light at the end, so I’ll be alright.” Sheehan is expected to be sidelined until at least the All-Star break.
Kyle Hurt, who had Tommy John surgery on July 30th, is likely to miss most if not all of the 2025 season. He had previously dealt with right shoulder inflammation before the UCL tear.
These pitchers join Gavin Stone and River Ryan, who were previously placed on the Dodgers 60-day injured list due to shoulder surgery and Tommy John surgery, respectively.
