It might be the start of NFL Free Agency, but the Los Angeles Dodgers have stolen the news cycle, as they have all off-season.
Per Jon Heyman of the New York Post, manager Dave Roberts and the Los Angeles Dodgers are in agreement on a 4-year extension, worth just above $8 million per year.
Breaking, Dave Roberts and Dodgers have agreed to a new deal. 4 years total (so 3 extra years) at record rate, so slightly over $8M per year. Announcement expected within a day or two.

Dave Roberts Gets Record Deal From Los Angeles Dodgers

Dave Roberts and the Dodgers have been in contract talks for a few weeks now, but the two sides were able to reach an agreement before the season began.
Before a deal was struck, Roberts was the 11th highest-paid manager in baseball, making $3.25 million annually, just above Alex Cora of the Boston Red Sox and just below Aaron Boone of the New York Yankees.
Craig Counsell of the Chicago Cubs had reset the market as the highest paid manager, making $8 per year, $3 million more than Tony Lovullo of the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2nd place.

The Dodgers are set to officially announce the deal soon, but according to Heyman, the deal is reportedly worth $32.4 million over 4 years, which would put Roberts just a touch over $8 million annually, tops in the MLB.
Roberts has a lifetime record of 851-507 as a manager, which equals a winning percentage of .627, which is the highest winning percentage of any manager in MLB history with at least 1000 games managed.
Roberts and the Dodgers will look to repeat as World Series Champions, and not having to worry about a contract extension will certainly help.
