Freeman provided details about the incident on Tuesday, describing it as a “freak accident.”

“Halfway through my (Sunday) morning coffee, I was like, ‘Oh, I’ll just shower to get ready for the day,’” Freeman recounted. “And next thing you know, I’m down in the bathtub. It’s a great mental picture, if you guys want to think about it, big guy falling all over the place.

… Freak accident, you can’t really make it up, crazy. But it was just one of those things. You slip in bathtub showers all the time. And when you’re healthy, you just catch yourself. And when you’re not, when you’ve got a little surgically repaired ankle, mostly I think it just flared everything kind of back up. I was a little sore. Sore on the inside still. But I’m feeling much better.”

Despite Freeman’s reported improvement, the Dodgers are proceeding with caution, especially given the early stage of the season. The team has demonstrated its ability to perform without him, maintaining an undefeated 7-0 record, including 4-0 in games where Freeman is absent.

Freeman, known for his aversion to missing games, is recovering from a physically demanding postseason that included a severely sprained ankle and broken rib cartilage. The Dodgers are prioritizing his long-term health, exercising extra care with any flare-ups.

Blake Snell will make his second start for the Dodgers in the series finale, as the team aims for its third consecutive series sweep and an 8-0 start to the season.
