Popularity does not win you baseball games, but the Los Angeles Dodgers are proving yet again that they are one of baseball’s most popular teams, which does aid in revenue, allowing ownership to go on the spending spree that it has to field a top contender every season.
Major League Baseball just announced the Top 20 player jersey sales through the Fanatics’ network of websites since the end of the World Series, and not only is a Dodgers player at the top, but they have six of the Top 20 players.

Los Angeles Dodgers, Shohei Ohtani Lead MLB In Jersey Sales

The player at the top should come as no surprise. The reigning MVP, Shohei Ohtani, is a global phenomenon. The world saw during the Tokyo Series that he is literally everywhere in Japan, and he is one of the most popular players in the States.
After Ohtani, however, the Dodgers have five more players in the Top 20, and one barely played last year and has yet to take the mound this season.
