Dem Bums! Rival Accuses Los Angeles Dodgers Of Offensive Behavior

New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone wasn’t exactly thrilled with some of the post-World Series comments from the Los Angeles Dodgers. While he acknowledged the Dodgers’ right to celebrate their victory, Boone subtly suggested that a little less “gloating” might have been in order.

“The reality is we didn’t play our best in the series and they won, so they had that right to say whatever,” Boone said Tuesday, per ESPN’s Jeff Passan. “Hopefully, we’re in that position next year and handle things with a little more class. But the reality is it’s a great team, it’s a great organization with a lot of great people that I happen to know and respect, too. So a few people sounding off isn’t necessarily how I would want to draw it up.”

Boone expressed displeasure with comments made by some LA players following their World Series victory. Chris Taylor and former reliever Joe Kelly criticized the Yankees’ fielding and baserunning with the latter saying New York’s issues in those areas were “well-known” on his podcast and the former saying the American League East team “s–t down their leg” on teammate Mookie Betts’ podcast.

Los Angeles, boasting a formidable roster featuring Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, and a stellar pitching staff including Blake Snell, Rōki Sasaki, Tyler Glasnow, and Yoshinobu Yamamoto, are widely considered the league favorites. A potential World Series matchup looms large.

While the Yankees may not quite match the Dodgers’ pre-season hype, their aggressive offseason acquisitions of Max Fried, Paul Goldschmidt, Cody Bellinger, and Devin Williams have significantly bolstered their roster and positioned them as serious contenders.

New York last hoisted the trophy in 2009 and endured a 15-year absence from the Fall Classic before their 2024 appearance. Now, the focus shifts from simply reaching the pinnacle to finally conquering it.

While the loss of Juan Soto undoubtedly presents a significant challenge, the team’s strategy for mitigating this impact hinges on collective effort and the strategic acquisition of multiple high-caliber players.
