Los Angeles Dodgers right-handed pitcher Tyler Glasnow departed Sunday’s game against the Texas Rangers due to an apparent injury, prompting concern given the team’s already strained pitching rotation.

Glasnow was observed shaking his leg out during the fourth inning. While he initially indicated to trainers and manager Dave Roberts that he felt well enough to continue, he was removed from the game in the fifth inning after throwing just one pitch. He appeared to be favoring his right leg or ankle as he left the field.

Glasnow’s exit came during a dominant performance, having pitched four scoreless innings, allowing only three hits and one walk, while recording six strikeouts. The Dodgers now face an anxious wait to determine the severity of Glasnow’s injury, particularly considering their existing pitching challenges.

Blake Snell remains on the injured list without a firm timetable for his return. Tony Gonsolin is approaching a return, but Clayton Kershaw is still a month away from being eligible to come off the 60-day injured list. Furthermore, Shohei Ohtani is still several months away from being able to pitch for Los Angeles.

This latest development adds to Glasnow’s injury history. He missed the final three months of the previous season due to an elbow injury. In 2024, Glasnow pitched a career-high 134 innings before that injury.
