Los Angeles Venues Announced For 2028 Summer Olympics

There is a ton of excitement in the City of Los Angeles as we prepare to host the 2028 Summer Olympics. The venues where many of the historic events are to take place were teased a few months ago, but now the majority have been officially announced on the LA28 website.

They are as follows.

Los Angeles Venues Announced For 2028 Summer Olympics

SoFi Stadium – Swimming

This is going to be iconic. An Olympic-sized swimming pool will be created within the confines of gorgeous SoFi Stadium. The renderings look pretty awesome as the massive oculus will hang over the crystal-clear water.

Sofi Stadium is also set to host the Opening Ceremony.

Intuit Dome – Basketball

The Intuit Dome is the beautiful, billion-dollar arena in Inglewood next to SofI Stadium, which is the Los Angeles Clippers’ home court. It will be a grand arena, one that will demonstrate the innovation of Los Angeles.

Crypto.com Arena – Gymnastics and Boxing

Outside of Madison Square Garden, Crypto.com Arena (formerly Staples Center) is one of the most iconic indoor venues in the world. It is the perfect place to host the Women’s Gymnastic Team, which has been one of the world’s best for decades and hopes to continue that dominance at the 2028 Summer Olympics.

LA Memorial Coliseum – Track & Field

Back where it all began. The Coliseum opened 101 years ago in May of 1923. It will be the first venue in the world to host three Olympic games (1932, 1984, 2028). An iconic stadium to host the games’ original sport.

Dodger Stadium – Baseball

Dodger Stadium and beautiful Chavez Ravine will play host to Baseball in the Olympics, and rightfully so. One of the most iconic baseball stadiums in the world, it is a true symbol of the City of Angels.

Rose Bowl – Soccer

Another absolutely iconic stadium, and perhaps the most beautiful setting in all of sport, is the Rose Bowl, nestled in the hills of Pasadena. A perfect setting for the world’s best soccer players and not a bad seat in the house for every patron of the 2028 Summer Olympics.

Honda Center – Volleyball

A little bit further down the 5 Freeway, the Honda Center will host the volleyball event. Typically used for hockey and the Anaheim Ducks, the Honda Center has hosted many other types of events, including plenty of basketball and volleyball tournaments.

BMO Stadium – Flag Football and Lacrosse

The home of the LA Football Club (LAFC), situated in the heart of Los Angeles right next to the LA Coliseum, the beautifully designed BMO stadium will host Lacrosse and the inauguration of Flag Football in the 2028 Summer Olympics.

Dignity Health Sports Park – Rugby, Tennis, Archery, and Field Hockey

Dignity Health Sports Park has been a staple in Los Angeles for quite some time and comes equipped with plenty of fields outside of the stadium for multiple sports and matches to occur simultaneously.

While these are the marquee venues and the most notable sports, there are plenty of other venues being used throughout the Los Angeles area including a multitude in Long Beach where Alimitos Beach will host beach volley ball, Belmont Shore will host sailing, the Long Beach Arena will host handball, the Long Beach Convention Center will host shooting, climbing, artistic swimming, and water polo, the Long Beach Marina will host rowing and canoe sprint, and the Long Beach waterfront will host coastal rowing and open water swimming.

One other notable, the Riviera Country Club, which just barely survived the Pacific Palisades Fire a few months back, will host the Golf event in the 2028 Summer Olympics.
