The Los Angeles Clippers are facing a challenging period, having lost six of their last eight games, leading to a decline in their standings. However, a bright spot emerged in their recent victory over the Detroit Pistons, where James Harden delivered a vintage performance, exploding for 50 points in the 123-115 win. Despite Harden’s individual brilliance, they could benefit from adding a familiar face to their roster.
Reunion Predicted Between Los Angeles Clippers and Chris Paul
Fadeaway World predicts that Chris Paul, Harden’s former teammate from their time with the Oklahoma City Thunder, could return to Los Angeles on a veteran minimum deal this offseason. Paul’s history with the Clippers, where he spent six years forming the iconic “Lob City” era alongside Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan, is well-documented. Since leaving LA, Paul has had stints with the Houston Rockets, Oklahoma City Thunder, Phoenix Suns, Golden State Warriors, and currently, the San Antonio Spurs.

During his tenure in LA, Paul led the team to the playoffs every season, reaching the second round three times. While no longer the MVP-caliber player he once was, the soon-to-be 40-year-old Paul still possesses valuable skills. Currently, with the Spurs, he’s averaging 8.9 points and 7.9 assists in 28.7 minutes per game. His playmaking abilities could significantly enhance the games of Kawhi Leonard and Norman Powell, while allowing Harden to focus more on his scoring prowess.
With a healthy lineup featuring Harden, Leonard, and Powell, the Clippers would present a formidable offensive threat. Ivica Zubac would also benefit from Paul’s playmaking, having more opportunities to dominate in the paint. While the Clippers would likely need to make additional roster adjustments to become true championship contenders, adding a player of Paul’s caliber would be a step in the right direction, providing a seasoned floor general to guide the team.
