The Memphis Grizzlies’ upcoming game on Saturday will be their first since the firing of coach Taylor Jenkins, and they may also see the return of their star player. Ja Morant has been upgraded to questionable on the Grizzlies’ injury report for their game against the Los Angeles Lakers at FedExForum. He has missed six consecutive games due to a hamstring injury he sustained against the Cavaliers on March 14th.
Memphis Grizzlies’ Ja Morant May Return For Los Angeles Lakers Game

“It was something that happened in the game,” Jenkins said before Thursday’s loss to the Thunder. “It was kind of what came out of the Cleveland game. . . He’s making a lot of great progress. He’s working his tail off to get back out there. We’re excited to get him back out there. He is, too.”
The 25-year-old guard has played in 43 games this season for Memphis, averaging 22.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, 7.4 assists and 1.2 steals per game, shooting 44.9 percent from the field and 29.1 percent from deep.
Jenkins’ surprise firing on Friday adds numerous storylines to Saturday’s game, potentially including Morant’s return. The Grizzlies are scheduled to host the Celtics on Monday and the Warriors on Tuesday.
Marvin Bagley III (concussion protocol) is also listed as questionable. Brandon Clarke is out for the season with a knee sprain, while GG Jackson and Yuki Kawamura are with the Memphis Hustle of the G League. Zyon Pullin remains out as he recovers from patellar tendon surgery.
