Los Angeles Lakers, Luka Doncic Now Dealing With A New Injury

The Los Angeles Lakers’ recent loss to the Boston Celtics not only ended their eight-game winning streak but also resulted in significant injury concerns, with both LeBron James and Luka Doncic sustaining injuries during the game. James’ groin injury is the more serious of the two, with the 40-year-old expected to be sidelined for at least a week. Adding to LA’s woes, Doncic has been added to the injury report for their upcoming game against the Brooklyn Nets, listed as questionable due to back spasms.

During the broadcast, Doncic was observed performing stretches, prompting inquiries about his physical condition. In response, Doncic disclosed that he has been experiencing back soreness following a hard fall during the team’s victory over the New York Knicks on Thursday. However, he reassured viewers and reporters, stating that he was “fine.” This suggests that while he is dealing with some discomfort, he intends to play through it.

Los Angeles’ injury situation is extensive, with a total of seven players listed on the injury report. Rui Hachimura, Dorian Finney-Smith, and Maxi Kleber will join James on the bench due to various injuries. Bronny James is also unavailable, currently assigned to the South Bay of the G-League. Center Jaxson Hayes is listed as questionable with a knee bruise, alongside Doncic.

Despite the loss to the Celtics, LA maintains their second-place position in the Western Conference. They will attempt to rebound against the Brooklyn Nets on Monday night at 7:30 p.m. ET at the Barclays Center.
