The USC Trojans will begin their Spring Practices very shortly, and typically those practices are capped off by a Spring Game at the Coliseum for fans to watch, in person or on television.
LAFB is working to confirm, but according to Antonio Morales of The Athletic, “USC has decided not to host a traditional spring game this year.”
USC Trojans Will Not Host Traditional Spring Game In 2025
The traditional spring game is the first event of the year where fans are welcome to attend. In Lincoln Riley’s first season in 2022, the Trojans had a record Spring Game attendance of over 33,000+.
This will not be the case this season.
Morales went on to say that “USC will host a fan appreciation event during fall camp in addition to Salute To Troy.”
However, this does not mean that there will be nothing to look forward to for fans in the Spring. Morales also stated that USC is planning to host an event in the Spring that will welcome former players back to campus.
No details on this event have been released yet, but we will report as soon as we have more information.

There is also the possibility of a viewing of practice or something that fans can be a part of that is a little different than the traditional game. For years, crosstown rival UCLA would host a “Spring Showcase” on campus; the Trojans could announce something similar.
It is hard to say why Lincoln Riley and the staff decided to do away with the game, but towards the end of the last season, they began to switch things up a bit, including closing off the stretch and individual portion of practice to media.
Considering the program has underperformed the last two seasons, I don’t think it is harmful to switch things up and do things differently. And with the way College Football currently is, traditional happenings are going to continue to change.
