The USC Trojans continue to attract quality talent through the transfer portal.
Penn State football’s linebacker corps experienced a departure with redshirt sophomore Ta’Mere Robinson’s decision to enter the portal on Wednesday. Just two days later, Robinson, a native of western Pennsylvania, has turned his attention westward, seeking a new program. Robinson announced via his Instagram account on Friday that he would visit USC over the weekend.
USC Trojans Predicted To Land LB From Penn State From Transfer Portal
Now, according to On3’s Steve Wiltfong and Pete Nakos, the Trojans are likely Robinson’s top destination. “Coming off a visit to USC over the weekend, I like where USC stands for former Penn State linebacker Robinson. With that, I’ve logged an On3 RPM in favor of Lincoln Riley and the Trojans,” Wiltfong wrote.
The On3 Rankings name the 6-foot-3, 222-pound Robinson as the No. 12 linebacker in the portal and No. 259 player overall. A highly regarded prospect, Robinson was the No. 2 recruit in Pennsylvania coming out of high school and is ranked as the No. 7 linebacker currently available in the portal, according to 247Sports.
After missing his senior high school season due to injury and making brief appearances in three games as a true freshman, Robinson played in 14 games in 2024. He concludes his Penn State career with 13 tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss.
