USC Trojans Recruiting Hot Streak Continues With Latest Commitment

The untamed fire that is USC Trojans recruiting continues to roll on. Yesterday, elite 4-star defensive lineman Tomuhini Topui decommitted from Oregon, and immediately, the USC Trojans became the favorite to flip him. He was even seen on campus yesterday during the Trojans’ opening Spring practice.

An official announcement has not been made yet, but he is trending the Trojans way.

SC did, however, officially gain another commitment this morning. After just visiting campus on March 25th, Cathedral Catholic (San Diego) offensive lineman Chase Deniz announced his commitment to the Cardinal and Gold.

OL Chase Deniz Commits To USC Trojans

Standing at 6’7 and weighing 290 pounds, Deniz is listed as a 3-star tackle. He has elite size that will translate to the college level.

“After an amazing visit and careful consideration I am honored and blessed to say I am 100% committed to playing college football at the University of Southern California! I want to thank my family and coaches for being there with me on this journey,” Deniz wrote in a social media post.

His primary recruiter was offensive line coach Zach Hanson, however, he was also recruited by Colorado State, which could mean that tight ends coach Chad Savage could have begun building a relationship with Deniz during his time with the Rams.

Deniz is now the third offensive lineman in the 2026 class, joining 4-star Esun Tafa and 3-star John Fifita.

The Trojans and Coach Hanson are still in pursuit of multiple offensive linemen, including Keenyi Pepe, Malakai Lee, Vlad Dyakonov, Kodi Greene, and others.

Greene is currently committed to Oregon, but there is chatter that a potential flip is picking up steam. He plays high school ball at Mater Dei with Topui.
