The USC Trojans are trying to put together the best 2026 recruiting class in the nation. They already have the 2nd-ranked class, headlined by Georgia linebacker Xavier Griffin, and six elite California prospects, but they certainly are not done yet.
Another top prospect from the state of Georgia has his eyes on USC and has put them in his final eight. Who are the Trojans competing against and where do they stand in his recruitment?
4-Star ATH Tyriq Green Puts USC Trojans In Top 8
Tyriq Green, a 5’10, 190-pound 4-star ATH out of Buford, Georgia has over 52 scholarship offers and has whittled his list down to eight, which includes the USC Trojans.
“Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Ohio State, Tennessee, and USC are my top schools,” Green said in an interview with On3. “What makes these schools stand out are the relationships with these schools are very strong. That is a major thing for me. Also being able to see where I could play was something I looked at. I can see myself at those schools.”
Green took a visit to USC last fall and will look to get some official visits scheduled with these schools. He said that he hopes to finalize his commitment by July or August.

“When I commit, I want to get it done in July or early August before the season. How I see myself being developed there will be big in my decision. Who can help me get to the next level is what I am looking for. Having a strong relationship with the coaches is another thing important to me.”
USC Trojans DB Coach Doug Belk has been fantastic on the recruiting trail and currently is ranked as the number one recruiter in the nation on 247 Sports. He has also been praised for his development of players, and alongside DC D’Anton Lynn, the Trojans have seen extensive improvement from their DB room.
Per On3, Green is being recruited to play safety but could play anywhere in the secondary. He is the 8th-ranked ATH in the nation.
The Trojans already have four DBs committed in the 2026 class as they are clearly emphasizing this position.
