4-star running back Deshonne Redeaux is one of the priority recruits for the USC Trojans. He is a local kid who attends Oaks Christian High School and is the 13th-ranked RB in the 2026 class, per On3 Industry Rankings.
Redeaux has received a crystal ball prediction from 247 Sports, and predictions from On3 to commit to USC. His latest post would further suggest that.
It is very common for recruits to be seen with pro athletes and program alumni. It is actually a very strong recruiting tactic, and we have seen USC do it often with former players, but they have also tapped into all the celebrities that LA has to offer, such as future Hall-of-Famer Aaron Donald.
However, for a running back, when you think of the USC Trojans (at least the younger generation) you immediately think of Reggie Bush, and Redeaux was with the Trojans legend yesterday.

USC Trojans Legend Reggie Bush Aiding In Deshonne Redeaux Recruitment
This is great to see for a few reasons. For starters, Bush was exiled from USC for a decade due to the NCAA placing heavy sanctions on him for the “benefits” scandal. The “ban” was lifted in 2020, and the school and Bush began to rekindle their relationship.
Then, Bush just recently sued the NCAA, and USC was included in the lawsuit. It was unknown if this would hurt the relationship with the program, but he, and the university, have said that the relationship is good and they are working out a time when he will be the player to lead the team out of the tunnel.

A photo with a blue chip running back prospect doesn’t necessarily mean that everything is all rainbows, but it is a good look.
Secondly, and this is the obvious one, if you want to gain a priority running back, having one of the greatest running backs to ever grace the gridiron of College Football aids in his recruitment.
We have a long way to go till signing day in December, but having legendary alumni such as Reggie Bush around and active in the process is a great thing to see.
