Multiple Top Commits On Flip Watch As USC Trojans Ramp Up Recruiting

The USC Trojans currently hold 19 commitments in the No. 1-ranked 2026 recruiting class, and they are not done yet.

While they are pursuing plenty of uncommitted prospects, there are also some local players committed to other schools that USC is hot on the trail for.

Rivals recruiting insider Adam Gorney highlighted a few West Coast commits who are on flip watch, and most of them are trending towards the USC Trojans.

Latest Recruiting Flip Intel For USC Trojans

Gorney lists five West Coast commits, and four of them are heavily linked to the Trojans. It feels likely at this point that at least one of them will flip, but Lincoln Riley has a viable shot with all four.

Kodi Greene, OT – Oregon

Flipping Greene would be another huge recruiting win for the Trojans in that they get a potential offensive line anchor and would be stealing him away from the Ducks.

Per Gorney, “…Greene was just back at USC for the fourth time in recent days and Texas is expected to get him to Austin later this month. The Ducks still have his commitment and Greene hasn’t moved off the stance that it’s going to be tough. But there is an opening for some teams there.”

USC and Coach Hanson have been pushing hard for Greene in recent weeks. He spoke very highly of his visits and praised Hanson and his coaching style.

Nothing is done yet, but this is definitely one to watch.

Jonah Smith, WR – UCLA

What’s better than stealing a recruit from Oregon? Stealing one from your crosstown rival, UCLA.

According to Gorney, since committing to UCLA in March of 2024, even after breaking his tibia in June, “The Bruins’ coaches from DeShaun Foster all the way down not only kept in touch with Smith but showed love through the injury, surgery, and recovery. That played a big part in Smith’s thinking about his commitment and where things stand with the Bruins.

But USC has shown a good deal of interest especially in recent weeks and if a visit to campus happens, then the Trojans could become a real player in this recruitment.”

Smith attends Santa Margarita Catholic, the same school that USC commits Trent Mosley and Simote Katoanga attend.

Vance Spafford, WR – Georgia

Spafford is one that fans are really hoping for. The Mission Viejo product is one of the top wide receivers in the country, ranking as the 2nd best WR, according to Rivals.

He committed to Georgia back in November, and it will be tough to flip him, but USC is certainly putting in the work.

“Spafford was back at USC over the weekend and the Trojans are definitely working on getting him aboard. The offense suits his style of play but Georgia continues to push to keep him,” writes Gorney.

After Chris Henry Jr. shut down his recruitment, signifying his commitment to Ohio State, the USC Trojans could look to go all in on Spafford.

Khalil Terry, S – Michigan State (2027)

Terry is a 2027 prospect, which is a long way out, but USC is still recruiting the Tustin, CA, product. His position coach at Michigan State, Demetrice Martin, who recruited him, has left the Spartans and is now with the UCLA Bruins.

“Terry is still giving Michigan State serious consideration because of other relationships there and he likes the Spartans very much, but it would not be a shock if this came down to a battle between USC and UCLA for one of the best 2027 defensive backs in California,” says Gorney.

As of now, I would put UCLA in the driver’s seat thanks to the connection with Martin, and head coach DeShaun Foster is a Tustin alum, but if USC wants him, DB coach Doug Belk is one of the best recruiters in the country.

We might need to get our good friend and USC Trojans legend Frostee Rucker involved in this. He is also a Tustin alum and very involved in the Tustin community.
