The USC Trojans have been cooking on the recruiting trail, and they show no signs of slowing down. After just landing a commitment from defensive lineman Tomuhini Topui yesterday and wide receiver Kohen Brown today, the Trojans just received a crystal ball to land another one.
After spending three days on campus on unofficial visits (3/27 – 3/29), both 247 Sports and On3 have put in predictions for Prosper, Texas defensive lineman Jake Johnson to commit to USC.
3-Star DL Jake Johnson Predicted To Commit To USC Trojans
Coach Henderson and Coach Nua have been putting in work to build out this 2026 defensive line unit. While not as well known because of his 3-star ranking, Johnson is another big body that plays primarily in the interior of the defensive line.
Standing 6’3 and weighing 290, he has the frame to put on more weight to be a force in the middle, or he can remain light and play more on the outside if his speed is improved.

Per Gabe Brooks, a 247 Sports scouting analyst, Johnson is a “one-speed bull rusher who can collapse the pocket. Still developing rush nuance, but flashes impressive point-of-attack strength and a consistently revved motor.”
He is the 61st-ranked defensive line prospect per On3 Industry Rankings and has room to improve during his senior year.
If he were to commit, he would join Jaimeon Winfield, Tomuhini Topui, Braeden Jones, and Malik Brooks on the interior in the 2026 class. Simote Katoanga and Andrew Williams are listed as EDGE prospects for the USC Trojans.
