USC Trojans Recruiting Strategy Has Shifted, According To Commit…For The Better

Once 4-star CB Brandon Lockhart committed to the USC Trojans he became a spokesman for the program, continually promoting the brand in a positive light. He has even been a force in recruiting other members of his class to join him at SC.

On Saturday, he responded to a fan on X.com in regards to USC recruiting locally in California.

Lockhart wrote:

“I think they’re turning a huge corner now. They’re getting guys from out of state, yeah…But their push for the Cali kids has taken a huge leap this spring. We need Talanoa to jump in with us!!”

USC Trojans Turn Their Sights On Recruiting California

We have been reporting this on LAFB Network and the USC LAFB Show for quite some time, but seeing a committed recruit come out and say it is very promising.

It was a message that was also given repeatable during Chad Bowden’s opening press conference a few days ago. He kept saying that California has the best football players in the Country, and the USC Trojans are going to do whatever it takes to get these kids to stay home.

Brandon Lockhart is the 5th-ranked CB in the entire nation and plays at Loyola High School in Los Angeles.

In reference to Talanoa, I am assuming that he is referring to Talanoa Ili, the 4-star linebacker who attends Orange Lutheran. Talanoa was in attendance with Lockhart at USC Junior Day, which reportedly went very well. 247 Sports currently has a crystal ball for him to commit to Oregon, but that can certainly change.

With the new staff that USC has in place, the new commitment to recruiting California as a priority, and players like Brandon Lockhart who are amazing brand ambassadors and proud Trojans, SC’s staying power is getting stronger and stronger.
