USC Trojans Could Solidify WR Room For Future With One Move

The USC Trojans currently have the No. 1 2026 recruiting class in the country, and they have plenty of momentum to continue to build upon it. However, there is still the 2025 season to play, so Lincoln Riley needs to continue to keep his current team going in the right direction while also building for the future.

The Spring Transfer Portal opens on April 16th, and it will be interesting to see if the Trojans decide to add any more pieces or if they are comfortable with the roster they have heading into the Fall.

One player just entered the portal that could solidify the Trojans receiver room for years to come if they decide to pursue.

With the firing of Head Coach Troy Taylor, Stanford players have been given a 30-day window to enter the transfer portal ahead of the spring window opening. One player that hit the portal today is soon-to-be true sophomore wide receiver Emmett Mosley.

Mosley is from Southern California, and his younger brother, Trent Mosley, is currently the top-rated receiver commit in the USC Trojans 2026 class.

USC could add Emmett Mosley and not only get a really good young receiver but also add some insurance that his brother Trent will not flip anywhere else.

That is not to say it would be a guarantee, or even if the brothers want to play together, but we have seen countless times where this does play out.

Most recently, older brother Zion Branch committed to USC in 2022, and a year later, his younger brother Zachariah Branch followed him to SC. Both have since transferred out of the program, and both ended up at Georia, together.

Before flipping to USC, QB Husan Longstreet was committed to Texas A&M, where his older brother, Kevin Longstreet, was already enrolled. Husan ended up flipping to USC, and then after last season, Keven transferred out of Texas A&M and is now with the Trojans.

This one has not yet played out, but Walker Lyons is a sophomore tight end with the Trojans who should see his role dramatically increase this season. His brother is 5-star, highly sought-after QB Ryder Lyons. Ryder has not committed anywhere, but USC is firmly in the mix.

Again, nothing is ever guaranteed, but adding both Mosely’s would certainly be a great get for the wide receiver room.

The 6’2, 190-pound receiver had a very successful season at Stanford last year. As a true freshman, he finished with 48 catches, 525 yards, and 6 touchdowns. For some context, last season Zachariah Branch finished with 47 catches, 501 yards, and 1 touchdown.

USC added Prince Strachan in the Winter Transfer Portal and wants to get redshirt freshman Xavier Jordan more involved, so it will be interesting to see if they pursue Mosley. He is definitely a name to watch.
