The 2025 Los Angeles Chargers will look a bit different the next time fans see their favorite team take the field. Several changes have come on both sides of the ball, but perhaps no change is bigger than installing Najee Harris as Jim Harbaugh’s new starting running back.
Yet, a familiar face is also set to return, with former Chargers receiver Mike Williams re-joining Justin Herbert too. However, the Chargers may not be done adding to a receiving corps led by Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston.

Bleacher Report links Amari Cooper to Los Angeles Chargers

Most would agree with the notion that the Los Angeles Chargers still largely have an unproven receiving corps. While adding Mike Williams and Tyler Conklin will help ensure the Chargers’ offensive floor is higher than last year’s scoring attack, the next set of receivers (Brenden Rice, Jalen Reagor and Derius Davis) are still in development.
Thus, the Chargers may still be able to benefit from the addition of yet another proven veteran receiver, such as five-time Pro Bowler Amari Cooper.
Recently, Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox named the Chargers one of Cooper’s “best fits” at this stage in free agency.
“Cooper would be a great addition to the Los Angeles Chargers. L.A. brought back Mike Williams after he spent the 2024 season elsewhere, but it still lacks depth behind 2024 rookie star Ladd McConkey. Cooper could be a great ancillary target for Justin Herbert, even if he’s no longer a breakaway threat.”
Bleacher Report on Los Angeles Chargers/Amari Cooper
Set to turn 31 before the season kicks off, Cooper should still have several productive seasons left in the tank. Yet, he’s coming off the worst year of his career, a 547-yard, four-touchdown campaign that saw him traded from the Cleveland Browns to the Buffalo Bills ahead of the NFL trade deadline.
Yet, he’s also recorded 1,000-yard campaigns in seven out of his ten seasons in the NFL. Ultimately, Cooper could be an ideal buy-low candidate who the Chargers could reap big rewards from.
