Los Angeles Chargers Dicker The Kicker Opens Up About NSFW Nicknames

Cameron Dicker, the Los Angeles Chargers’ reliable kicker, has adopted a refreshingly lighthearted approach to the inevitable jokes surrounding his last name. Far from being offended, Dicker embraces the humor, viewing it as a source of amusement.

In a recent interview with TMZ Sports, Dicker discussed his experiences growing up with his name. “Everybody just calls me ‘Dick’ now, still. I’m known as ‘Dick’ around the building,” Dicker revealed. “It’s enjoyable. I think it’s a funny thing. Growing up, it makes it funny in school for sure. No problems from me.” His candid response underscores his good-natured attitude and ability to take the teasing in stride.

When questioned about potentially capitalizing on his name for branding purposes, Dicker’s focus shifted to more meaningful endeavors primarily through the Friendship Foundation. These efforts earned him Man of the Year honors last year.

“For me, it’s working with youth, just growing my platforms so that I can help impact youth and help fatherless kids and provide lights in dark places of the world,” he explained. This demonstrates that his priorities lie in using his platform for positive impact rather than personal gain.

Dicker’s on-field performance has been equally impressive. Since joining the Chargers in 2022 as an undrafted rookie, he has established himself as a consistent and accurate kicker. His collegiate career at Texas saw him convert a significant number of field goal attempts, and his NFL success has mirrored that accuracy.

He has maintained a very high field goal percentage and has also shown great consistency with his PAT attempts. This solid performance has led to a four-year contract extension with the Chargers, securing his place as their kicker for the foreseeable future.
