The Los Angeles Chargers’ decision will be made in just a few hours, but NFL draft analysts are still getting the latest rumors in from across the league. Daniel Jeremiah, who has close ties to the Chargers, published his latest mock draft based on the most current intel coming in.
While many mock drafters stick the team with any Michigan player, du jour. And many, of course, are leaning toward an offensive weapon, tight end, and wide receiver, to alleviate pressure on Justin Herbert and Ladd McConkey.
Is RB Where the Los Angeles Chargers Should Go In Round 1?

Jeremiah is biting on the latter, but looks to the offensive backfield with Ohio State’s running back TreVeyon Henderson.
“It certainly would raise some eyebrows if Jim Harbaugh were to pass on two of his former Michigan pupils (DT Kenneth Grant and CB Will Johnson) to take an Ohio State product. That said, Henderson might just be too enticing here. He would be the lightning to Najee Harris’ thunder, giving the Chargers an explosive running game.”
It should be noted that Jeremiah’s draft has the top two tight ends, Tyler Warren and Colston Loveland, as well as the top four wide receivers, Travis Hunter, Tetairoa McMillan, Emeka Egbuka, and Matthew Golden are all off the board by pick 22.

The Athletic’s Dane Brugler ranks Henderson as his 4th-best running back and 46th-best prospect in the 2024 NFL Draft Class, writing, “Henderson isn’t a proven bellcow between the tackles, but his bursts of speed make him a home-run threat and coaches can trust him to execute without the football. His versatile skill set will be an immediate upgrade to an NFL backfield.”
