The Los Angeles Chargers enter the NFL draft season with no shortage of positional needs after losing six defensive starters this offseason. Reportedly, one position they have their eye on is linebacker.
According to Jordan Schultz of Schultz Report, Georgia linebacker Chaz Chambliss is drawing significant interest from NFL teams. He is visiting the Chargers on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The team has also met with UCLA LB Carson Schwesinger and Fresno State LB Tuasivi Nomura.
Los Angeles Chargers: Chaz Chambliss Scouting Report

Chambliss’s football journey began at Carrollton High, where he amassed an impressive 251 tackles and 31.5 sacks. As a highly regarded four-star recruit, he committed to the University of Georgia and demonstrated his versatility by playing both inside linebacker and the Jack outside linebacker position. He truly excelled in his senior year, achieving career-best numbers in 2024, including a team-leading 6.5 sacks.
Chambliss is noted for his compact build and is considered a tweener size and length. However, he compensates for this with his exceptional physicality in run defense, effectively controlling the point of attack and stringing out runs.
He presents a small target for blockers and utilizes his flexibility to navigate around larger offensive linemen. His speed in pursuit is a standout trait, and he is known for his reliable tackling. Teammates describe him as one of the toughest players on the team.
Overall, Chambliss is seen as a strong edge defender who could provide valuable depth as an outside linebacker in a 3-4 defensive scheme. However, his path to securing an NFL roster spot is likely to be paved by his abilities as a special-teams ace.
