Former Los Angeles Chargers cornerback Kristian Fulton has reached an agreement with the Kansas City Chiefs on a two-year, $20 million contract, with $15 million fully guaranteed, as reported by agent Todd France to ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Tuesday.
Early in the previous season, leading up to Los Angeles’ Week 5 bye, Fulton was demonstrating significant improvement in his performance. Among cornerbacks with at least 100 coverage snaps, he had allowed the 11th-lowest passer rating when targeted as the nearest defender (69.7), according to Next Gen Stats. He also recorded his first interception since 2022, picking off Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes in Week 4.

However, Fulton’s performance took a downturn after the Chargers’ bye week. He also missed two games due to a hamstring injury and saw limited playing time in other games while managing the injury. According to Next Gen Stats, from Week 6 to the end of the regular season, Fulton allowed the eighth-highest passer rating in the NFL when targeted as the nearest defender (114.0) and tied for the fifth-most touchdowns allowed (4).
A 2020 second-round draft pick from LSU, Fulton’s first four years with the Tennessee Titans were marred by injuries, causing him to miss 23 games. Despite this history, Fulton believed he had demonstrated his ability to complete a season without significant injury in 2024.
Fulton, 26, played 15 games in 2024, the most in his career, recording one interception and 51 tackles. Over his career, he has accumulated 201 tackles and five interceptions in 57 games, with 51 starts.
