  • Defensive Back

Los Angeles Chargers Mock Draft:

1st Round, 22nd overall: Luther Burden III, Wide Reciever, Missouri

With Luther Burden III falling to the 22nd pick, I had the Los Angeles Chargers selecting the former SEC superstar with ease. Burden dominated in almost every game he played for the Tigers the past two seasons even with a slightly disappointing 2024 season. There’s no doubt that Burden can be a Day 1 starter in this league.

PFF currently has Burden listed as the 2nd overall receiver and the 15th overall prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Burden spent 3 seasons with Missouri where he had 192 receptions, 2263 receiving yards, and 25 total touchdowns with the Tigers. One of his best performances in 2024 was against 24th-ranked Boston College where he had 6 catches on 117 yards and 1 touchdown.

Burden comes in at 5’11”, and 208 pounds which has drawn comparisons to Deebo Samuel during the draft process.

The Los Angeles Chargers require a number two receiver behind Ladd McConkey, and since the Bolts have yet to find that guy during Free Agency, Luther Burden would be a perfect fit for coach Harbaugh’s team. His speed and ability to break free from tackles would open a new avenue on offense for Justin Herbert and co to explore.

2nd Round, 54th overall: Shemar Turner, Defensive Line, Texas A&M

Shemar Turner is a former 5-star defensive lineman who played a massive role as a part of Texas A&M’s defense. Turner lined up at every position on the defensive line through his four-year stint as an Aggie. Finding more depth at the defensive line is a key goal for the Chargers this offseason since releasing Joey Bosa.

PFF has Turner as the 8th-ranked interior defender and 46th overall prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft. The 6’4”, 300-pound interior defensive lineman played four seasons with Texas A&M where he had 115 total tackles, 10 sacks, and 3 forced fumbles.

The former Aggie had a great game against Mississippi State where he had 6 total tackles, 1 sack, and 1 forced fumble. Stewart has drawn comparisons to Dominique Easley through the draft process.

The Chargers have signed defensive linemen Naquon Jones and Da’Shawn Hand in Free Agency, but the potential of Turner was too good to pass up in this Draft. Turner may be slightly underweight for his position, but the former Aggie has an exceptional defensive IQ and fast hands that could lead to an illustrious career in this league.

3rd Round, 86th overall: Terrance Ferguson, Tight End, Oregon

Terrance Ferguson is a prototypical NFL prospect tight end who would fit perfectly in the Chargers’ offense. The former Oregon Duck has played with some of the best athletes in the NCAA and has four years of experience with an exceptional offense.

Tight end is one of the biggest holes the Bolts still have on their roster, and Ferguson would be a great addition to the offense. The tight end has great athleticism and is a fantastic receiving threat.

PFF currently has Ferguson as the 5th-ranked tight end and the 75th overall prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft. The 6’5”, 255-pound prospect spent four seasons with Oregon where he had 134 receptions, 1537 total yards, and 16 touchdowns.

Ferguson had an impressive performance against Ohio State in the CFP where he had 5 catches on 71 yards. The former Duck has drawn comparisons to Foster Moreau during the Draft process.

4th Round, 122nd overall: Jaydon Blue, Running Back, Texas

I have had the Los Angeles Chargers drafting Jaydon Blue before. Even with the Bolts signing Najee Harris to a one-year 9.5 million dollar contract this offseason, I have the Bolts taking Blue purely because of his speed and athleticism.

To succeed in the running game in the current climate of the NFL, it is essential to find multiple guys who can succeed in the backfield.

PFF currently has Blue ranked as the 11th-ranked running back and 124th overall prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft. The 6’0”, 200-pound running back spent 3 seasons with Texas where he had 214 carries, 56 receptions, 1664 total yards, and 18 total touchdowns as a Longhorn.

Blue had a remarkable game against Clemson in the CFP where he had 14 carries on 146 yards, a touchdown, and 2 catches for 31 yards. Blue has drawn comparisons to Tony Pollard during the draft process.
