This move follows the Chargers’ re-signing of edge rusher Khalil Mack on Monday, indicating a clear strategy to prioritize retaining their own talent as they navigate the free agency period.

J.K. Scott, who previously spent time with the Green Bay Packers and the Jacksonville Jaguars, joined the Chargers in 2022. During his tenure with the AFC West team, he has averaged 45.6 yards per kick. Throughout his NFL career, Scott has maintained an average of 45.1 yards per kick, demonstrating his consistency and value to the Chargers’ special teams unit.
