The Athletic’s Dane Brugler ranks Trikweze Bridges as the 40th best cornerback in the 2025 NFL Draft class, writing, Bridges has the tools and versatility to match up with size at receiver, and his impressive testing likely guaranteed him a long look in an NFL training camp.

Bridges’ athletic background is rich and diverse, rooted in a family with multiple college football connections, including his father, Tremayne, who played wide receiver at Florida A&M. Growing up in Lanett, Ala., one of three children, Bridges demonstrated exceptional talent at Lanett High School. He earned all-state honors for three consecutive years, and as a junior safety and receiver, he led the team to the 2017 Class 1A state championship (recording 104 tackles and 10 interceptions). He also contributed to multiple state titles with the basketball team, where his mother, Marcilyn Patrick, was a former player.

Rated as a three-star recruit, Bridges chose to sign with Oregon, declining several SEC offers, including one from Alabama. After five years at Oregon, he transferred to the SEC for his super-senior season. He transitioned from a bench role early in the season to starting safety and then cornerback, ultimately leading the Gators in tackles and allowing only 14 receptions (with no touchdowns) in 2024.

Bridges is an impressive athlete for his size, demonstrating the ability to effectively press and utilize his length to disrupt receiver routes. He closes distance quickly from off coverage and arrives with notable physicality.
