The Los Angeles Chargers continue to fill out their roster ahead of the NFL Draft. During the first wave of Free Agency, the Bolts remained relatively quiet, not signing any big-name free agents.
They did re-sign Khalil Mack and brought in RB Najee Harris, but they stayed patient in other positions of need.
One of their biggest needs was at the tight end position. They not only needed to get more viable pass-catchers, but they frankly just needed bodies as Will Dissly was the only returning viable starter, and he is more suited as a run blocker.
Veteran tight end Tyler Conklin just wrapped up a visit in LA, and apparently, the Chargers did not let him leave the building without a contract.

No one will mistake Conklin for Travis Kelce, but he is a well-rounded tight end who brings a big body to the passing game.
The 6’3, 248-pounder began his career with the Minnesota Vikings before landing with the Jets for the last three seasons. He finished last season with 51 catches, 449 yards, and 4 touchdowns.
While he hasn’t lit up the box score, he is also a very solid run blocker, and perhaps his greatest attribute is his health. He has only missed one game in his entire seven-year career.
He joins a tight-end room that features Dissly, Tucker Fiske, and McCallan Castles.
The Chargers could still add another TE in the draft, but with the addition of Conklin, they won’t be forced to.
