Los Angeles Chargers Predicted To Draft Freak Athlete With Elite Size, Speed, and Ball-Carrier Vision In 3rd Round

The Los Angeles Chargers’ quest to bolster their offensive arsenal for quarterback Justin Herbert remains a critical task. While re-signing Mike Williams is a positive step, it’s widely acknowledged that additional playmakers are needed. The Chargers’ decision to pass on a trade for D.K. Metcalf and their relatively quiet approach in free agency suggests they’ll look to the NFL Draft to address this need.

With a promising pool of wide receiver talent available in the upcoming draft, the Chargers have an opportunity to make a significant addition.

Jacob Infante of Pro Football Network’s recent seven-round mock draft projects the Chargers selecting TCU Horned Frogs’ Savion Williams in the third round, a pick that could prove to be a steal.

“Drops and route-running footwork are areas of improvement for Savion Williams, but he’s a freak athlete with elite size, speed, and ball-carrier vision with the ball in his hands that makes him worth taking a Day 2 flyer on,” Infante wrote.

Savion Williams, with his 6-foot-5 frame, exceptional speed, and leaping ability, possesses rare athletic gifts. His final season at TCU showcased his versatility, as he recorded 60 receptions for 611 yards and six touchdowns, while also rushing for 322 yards and six touchdowns. This combination of size and playmaking ability draws comparisons to a larger version of Deebo Samuel.

While Williams must still prove his capabilities at the professional level, his potential is undeniable. If he’s available when the team select at 86th overall in the third round, they would be wise to seize the opportunity to add such a dynamic player to their offense.
