Cooper Kupp Excited To Finally Have Home Crowd Noise On His Side With Seattle Seahawks

Cooper Kupp, a Washington native, has experienced the intensity of Seattle Seahawks fans from an opposing perspective throughout his NFL career. As a member of the Los Angeles Rams, a fierce NFC West rival, he regularly faced the deafening noise of the 12s at Lumen Field.

Now, Kupp is relieved to be on the other side of that experience. Following his introductory press conference at Seahawks headquarters, he sat down with NFL Network’s ‘The Insiders‘ and when the conversation turned to what it was like being an opposing player in front of the Seattle home crowd, known as the ’12th Man’ or the ’12s’, Kupp let out what was more or less a groan.

And then the former All-Pro, Super Bowl MVP, and NFL Offensive Player of the Year went on to explain how nice it will be to have the support of the home crowd

“First off, addressing the environment that you’re planning when you come to Lumen, I think it’s renowned what the 12 of us have done here. And it’s been eight years of just hating coming up here and having to deal with them. So it’s a good rewiring to be like, man, all that juices now, you know, behind you and, you know, cheering you on and being able to be a part of that. I’m really looking forward to that. That’s just something that’s going to be a really cool environment to be a part of.”

“That’s going to be a very special thing. I’m so excited to be on that side of it and not have to deal with it anymore.”

Beyond simply avoiding the opposing 12s, Cooper Kupp’s move to the Seattle Seahawks also promises a significant change in his experience with home crowds. Unlike his time with the Los Angeles Rams, where SoFi Stadium often saw a large presence of opposing fans, Kupp will now enjoy the support of a predominantly home crowd. This shift represents a complete 180-degree change in the atmosphere he’s accustomed to, moving from a stadium often filled with rival supporters to one where he’ll be embraced by the enthusiastic 12s.
