Los Angeles Rams Predicted to Get Ridiculously Low Return for Trading Fan-Favorite Superstar

NFL offseasons can bring some of the most exciting news of the football calendar. Yet, for Los Angeles Rams players and all other athletes, not knowing what the future holds can be nerve-wracking.

Sometimes, it’s a player’s contract expiring. Other times, an athlete gets traded. Either way, there are several instances where a player cannot pick and choose where he wants to play.

That may be the case for one of the Rams’ fan-favorite superstars, who is expected to get traded by the team this offseason.

In 2021, Cooper Kupp dominated the league by recording 145 receptions and 1,947 yards, but he hasn’t had a 1,000-yard season since. He also hasn’t played more than 12 games in a season either.

Kupp has a $29.7 million cap hit in 2025, which didn’t match last season’s production, where he recorded 710 yards in 11 starts and 12 games. His rising cost, along with the emergence of Puka Nacua now has the Rams set to shop Kupp on the NFL trade block this offseason.

Now, thanks to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer, we have a better idea of when Rams fans can expect a Kupp trade and how much of a return Los Angeles will get in exchange for the former All-Pro.

“As for the return, I’d say it’s probably a Day 3 pick. Remember, the contract will weigh down any negotiation. He’s due a $7.5 million rosterd bonus on St. Patrick’s Day (hence the urgency to move him before then), with $5 million of it fully guaranteed, and another $12.5 million in nonguaranteed base salary. He’s not going to make all $20 million next year. So the Rams’ willingness to pay some of (or even all of) the roster bonus, and Kupp’s willingness to take less in base salary, will be needed to make a deal happen. Now, thanks to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer, we have a better idea of when Rams fans can expect a Kupp trade and how much of a return Los Angeles will get in exchange for the former All-Pro. “
