Davante Adams Agent Shares Top Reason For Choosing Los Angeles Rams

A mere two weeks ago, the Los Angeles Rams’ long-term outlook appeared uncertain, and Davante Adams was still associated with the New York Jets. Today, however, both the team and the star wide receiver have a shared vision for the 2025-26 NFL season, one that revolves around championship contention.

While the Philadelphia Eagles, the reigning Super Bowl champions, are considered prime contenders in the NFC, the Rams clearly believe they have a viable path to a deep playoff run. This confidence is evidenced by their decision to restructure Matthew Stafford’s contract and their agreement to sign Adams to a two-year, $46 million deal, with $26 million guaranteed, once NFL free agency officially commences on Wednesday.

Despite widespread predictions that the 32-year-old Adams would reunite with Aaron Rodgers on a new team, he appeared to have a clear preference. The Rams organization offered Adams several appealing factors. “He is where he wanted to finish out his great career,” stated his agent, Frank Bauer, to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Adams’ California roots, growing up in Palo Alto and playing college football at Fresno State, likely played a role in his decision to potentially conclude his distinguished NFL career in Los Angeles.

With the Rams’ intention to trade Cooper Kupp during the offseason, the acquisition of Adams to pair with Puka Nacua is a strategic move. While Adams may no longer be considered among the absolute top-tier receivers, he remains a highly impactful player. The six-time Pro Bowl selection recorded 85 receptions for 1,063 yards and eight touchdowns in 14 games last season, demonstrating his continued ability to perform at a high level.
