The Los Angeles Rams season so far has been defined more by the players not on the field rather than the ones on it. And in another blow, cornerback Cobie Durant left the game and is questionable to return.
Durant Exits Rams vs Raiders Game
Durant had been a pivotable part of the game against the Las Vegas Raiders. He picked off an errant Garden Minschew throw-away pass. On the next drive, Durant was used to blitz Minschew. He was able to dislodge the ball, forcing a fumble that was scooped up by Kamren Curl, who took it to the endzone.
The Rams will now field Ahkello Witherspoon, Darious Williams, and undrafted rookie Josh Wallace as their cornerbacks.
They drafted Durant with a 4th-round pick in 2022. Since then Durant has always played a significant role for the defense, but 2024 is the first year as a regular starter, playing 92 percent of the team’s defensive snaps.
So far this year, Durant has allowed 11 catches on 22 passes for just 92 yards and no touchdowns. His interception against Las Vegas was his first of the season.
