The Cooper Kupp era in Los Angeles is over, at least with the Los Angeles Rams. Could he stay in the City of Angels and play for the Chargers? That is beginning to seem less likely as potential suitors continue to emerge, and now another AFC West team may be the favorite.
While Tom Brady and the Raiders have been linked to Kupp, it seems that the Denver Broncos may actually be the current favorite. Nothing is done by any means, but according to Jordan Schultz, “the Broncos are firmly in the mix, along with at least four other teams.”
As Cooper Kupp evaluates his options, sources say he will get the number he wants, despite a slow receiver market.

Are The Denver Broncos The Favorite For Cooper Kupp?

The Broncos have a very young receiving corps, headlined by Courtland Sutton. Marvin Mims Jr. is their slot receiver, and he has emerged as a true dynamic weapon, but there would still be room for Kupp in Sean Payton’s offense as he would look to utilize him in different ways.
The one thing holding a deal back would be the price.
The Broncos like their WR room as it is, and while they would love to add Cooper Kupp and his veteran leadership to it, it is unlikely that they will spend a big amount to do it.
According to Boston Sports Journal writer Mike Giardi, the asking price from Kupp and his camp right now is very high.
“A league source tells me Kupp’s asking price is ‘insane’ compared to where he is at this point in his career.”

The Broncos may be the leader in the clubhouse based on scheme fit, but it sounds like Kupp will need to bring his price down substantially in order to join the Orange and Blue.
Per reports, Cooper Kupp does not want to have a long, drawn-out process, so there should be clarity on where he ends up fairly soon. Will it be Denver? Will the Chargers make a last-second offer? We will soon find out.
